Detox Bath for Toddlers

This fall my girls are in all kinds of activities. From music lessons to gymnastics we come into contact with a lot of kids, and a lot of germs.
To build my girls immune system and to fend off those pesky germs I like to give my girls a detox bath at least once a week.

This is the recipe we use in our house and not only is it great for their immune system, it makes their skin silky soft.
1/2 cup of Epsom Salt
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 tablespoon coconut oil
On detox bath days we don’t use soaps or wash hair, we just soak for 20 minutes to get the benefits. The coconut oil can make the girls hair pretty greasy so we try to refrain from getting our hair wet. That’s easier said than done.
Now remember, I’m not a doctor, I can’t promise you any results, I’m just sharing what me and my family use and what we feel is safe in our home. One of the biggest aspects of this is the type of essential oil we use, not all oils are created equal. I did a ton of research and finally decided to use this one on my family. We use oils in many aspects of our home and have seen amazing results. I even clean with oils, I use this.
I hope your little ones enjoy this detox bath. Mine sure do

[…] 1. Between 6:45 and 7:15 we head upstairs for a bath. We generally let the big girls bathe together and usually have Hazel bathed before but on the days we are a little early we let them all play in the tub. We really focus on play during this time. We really want them to get that last bit on energy out. To promote a calm environment we diffuse our lavender essential oils  and we even add it to the bath on nights we have a detox bath (read more about our detox bath here). […]
