Top 10 Things You MUST Do On Symphony of the Seas

10 things you must do on Symphony of the Seas

My husband and I were invited by Royal Caribbean to tour their newest ship, Symphony of the Seas. As long time cruisers we were convinced that we had seen and done it all. Oh man, we were so wrong. This ship isn’t just the largest ship in the world, it’s a ship filled with incredible attractions that left us feeling like kids. There are so many things to do on Symphony of the Seas we just had to share our top things you can’t miss onboard.

Treat Your Sweet Tooth At Sugar Beach

Would you believe me if I told you there was a candy shop on the ship with ever type of candy you could imagine and even ice cream?!? Well on Symphony of the Seas there is and we frequented this place often. The items in the shop aren’t included in the price of your cruise, but totally worth it in my opinion. Find Sugar Beach on the boardwalk just to the left of the carousel.

Order A Cocktail At The Bionic Bar

I had read about the bionic bar before our trip and it was the attraction I was most excited to see. I had never seen anything like it. You order your drink on an iPad, watch your status on the mirrored screens, and then watch one of two robotic arms mix up your delicious drink. Worried about someone snagging your drink when you’re not looking? No worries there, your drink only comes when you scan your sail pass. This place can get pretty busy so if you want to check it out without the wait times try visiting during daytime hours. Find the bionic bar on the promenade.

Try Fresh Oysters At Hooked Seafood

We were so excited when we found out we would be having dinner at Hooked Seafood our first night. Our dinner was almost too good to put into words. We are lovers of all things seafood and Hooked did not disappoint. We tried the oysters of course which were so fresh and the lobster roll which was so delicious. I definitely suggest planning at least one dinner at Hooked Seafood during your cruise aboard Symphony of the Seas.

Conquer Your Fear With The Ultimate Abyss

The most thrilling of attractions on Symphony of the Seas has to be the Ultimate Abyss. At 150 feet above sea level this dry slide had me feeling a bit timid at first. It is the first thing you notice when looking at the back of the ship and the barracuda mouth staircase is king of intimidating. We conquered our fears and I am so glad we did because we had the best time.

Get Your Hair Wet At The Perfect Storm

The Perfect Storm is a series of 3 water slides and Scott and I knew we had to try each. We love the water and this ship has plenty for you to do. From the kids areas to the adult only pool we had so much fun in the sun on our trip and the Perfect Storm was like the icing on the cake. These slides would be perfect even for the smaller guests, my six-year-old would love them!

Gasp At The Show HiRO In The Aqua Theatre

Earlier in the year Scott and I took the family on Oasis of the Seas (read about that HERE) and that ship also had an aqua theatre show. We were surprised to see how HiRO, the new show on Symphony, was so different. In our opinion we enjoyed HiRO much more. We enjoyed the story line and the performance level was up a notch. This show is one you can’t miss on your cruise.

Ride The Carousel On The Boardwalk

One of my favorite things about all the Oasis class ships in the boardwalk neighborhood of the ship. It has a Coney Island feel and open air and it was a part of the ship we visited often with our family. One of the stars of the Boardwalk was the carousel. There is something so nostalgic and fun about a carousel and this is something you have to take your little ones on at least once.

Enjoy Wine And Live Music In Central Park

Royal Caribbean is known for its phenomenal kids program and we take full advantage of that when we cruise. That means that the adults get to have some quiet evenings and most times we would head to Central Park and enjoy a glass of wine while listening to live music. Wondering what I mean when I say Central Park? Well if you have ever been to the NYC version then you have a pretty good idea of what to expect on Symphony of the Seas. Most times I forgot that I was even on a cruise ship and Central Park is definitely your spot if you are looking for a quiet, less busy, part of the ship.

Watch A Broadway Show That Is Sure To Make You Want To Dance

We love all things Broadway and when we heard that Hairspray, one of our favorites, was going to be playing on Symphony of the Seas we were ecstatic! This show is amazing and Scott and I were basically dancing in our seats the entire time. This would definitely be a show I would bring the whole family to. Although some of the topic matter is a little mature I feel like it would be a little over my girls heads. the music is really what makes this show spectacular.

Get Some Relaxation Time In The Jacuzzi With A View

One of the areas we visited more than any other was the jacuzzi. We loved the quiet ambiance and impeccable views, especially on port days. You can find the jacuzzi on either side of the ship, right outside the solarium.

Want to get a real insider look into what it’s like to cruise on Symphony of the Seas. Watch this little video we put together. It shows all the fun we crammed into two busy days. We cant wait to go back on this ship again and show our girls why it’s one of our favorites.
